How the Weight Loss Program Works

Complete the Candidacy Form

Start by filling out a brief candidacy form with basic medical information. Our PCP team will review your submission to determine if you’re a candidate for our program.

Schedule a Free Consultation

If you’re a candidate, we’ll schedule a consultation with one of our providers to review your medical history and answer any questions you may have. During this appointment, our team will discuss treatment options and take your credit card information if you decide to proceed.

Get Started with GLP-1 Medication

If you qualify, our provider will prescribe either Semaglutide or Tirzepatide based on your specific needs. The prescription is sent to our compounding pharmacy partner who will prepare and ship your medication directly to your door in 3-5 business days.

Receive Your Medications

Once your medication is processed, you’ll receive a notification, and your prescription will arrive cold-shipped overnight, including syringes, alcohol swabs, and an informational brochure with a QR code for guidance on storing and using your medication.

Monthly Follow-Up & Dosage Adjustment

You’ll have a monthly follow-up appointment with your provider to monitor progress and adjust dosages as needed. The process repeats to ensure you’re receiving optimal support and results.

Weight Loss Management FAQs

What is a GLP-1 Agonist?

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist which is used to lower serum glucose levels and therefore, manage the metabolism of patients.

How do I schedule my consultation?

Once the intake form has been completed, our team will reach out to you to schedule a consultation. Our consultations include a virtual health visit with one of our providers to review your medical history to determine if you qualify for our weight loss management program. If it is determined that you are a candidate, the provider will move forward. If you are not a candidate, there will be no charge.

What are common side effects of semaglutide and tirzepatide?

Some common side effects that our providers can discuss with you are loss of appetite, nausea, and sometimes hair loss. Our providers are great at managing these side effects and can determine if there are alternatives to help.

How do I inject semaglutide or tirzepatide and when do I do this?

Typically, it is administered once weekly by subcutaneous injection. The provider will provide a prescription with instructions on how and when to inject. Additionally, you will receive educational information from the pharmacy. We also have a PharmD on call that is able to answer any of your questions.

How will I get my prescription?

Once you finish your visit and place a credit card on file, the provider will send in your prescription to one of our associate pharmacies to be compounded. It can take about 5 business days to process your prescription. Once completed, your prescription will be shipped to you with syringes, vial, and alcohol swabs in an insulated container.

How are refills handled?

Refills will be discussed with you and your provider during your followup visits. While on the monthly auto-draft, your refill will not be ordered until your payment has been processed. We recommend making your first auto draft 3 weeks from when you first order, so you are able to stay on track without running out of medication. Each prescription should last 4 weeks.

What kind of followup is required?

At AlphaMeD, our program allows for a weekly follow up. Follow-ups are individualized depending on patient characteristics, but the patient’s glycemic response will be monitored closely, as dose escalation of tirzepatide after the 5-mg dose should be based on the patient’s individualized glycemic goals and their response to tirzepatide.

How do I store my medication?

Your medication should be stored in the refrigerator when not in use. If you happen to be traveling, it does NOT need to be packed on ice. Rather, just place it in the refrigerator whenever you get to your destination. If left out for more than 48 hours, please contact your provider to replace your prescription, which will have to be paid for in full.

What if I need a higher dose?

We understand that every patient’s needs are different to have a healthy and continuous weight loss and achieve their goal weight. In case a higher dose is required and recommended by your provider throughout your program, you can take advantage of our high dose membership program as follows: Tirzepatide: Our high dose membership offers up to 12.5mg/week (as medically appropriate) for an additional $150 per month. Semaglutide: Our high dose membership offers up to 2mg/week (as medically appropriate) for an additional $100 per month.
